Domestic Terrorists

Domestic Terrorist groups:

• Originate in the U.S.
• Receive their support solely from individuals and organizations in the U.S.
• Commit their crimes in the U.S.

Most terrorist incidents in the U.S. are perpetrated by Domestic Terrorists.

Prior to 9/11, the most destructive terrorist incident in the U.S. was the April 19, 1995 bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City with 168 casualties. An American anti-government extremist, Timothy McVeigh, carried out this attack.
